Which one?
I personally can't decide, they're both such works of genius.
We're referring to the Smile Sessions of course, not the 2004 Brian Wilson solo.
Pet Sounds for the feels
SMiLE by a MiLE
Smile Sessions meanders towards the latter half of the album.
Pet Sounds has 0% filler. Easy choice

underrated
Pet Sounds
Smile Sessions. They both share a sense of cohesion and what not, but I feel as though that Smile Sessions is more 'From the mind of Brian Wilson (and Van Dyke Parks)' than just 'Brian Wilson covering songs brian wilsony'
Please, don't shit on me, but I've always liked Smiley the best.
Especially this song

Pet Sounds to me is like that one really good movie that just managed to do everything right
SMiLE is like that sequel that tries to be more deep or over the top than the first one and while still enjoyable, just doesnt capture the same feels as the original movie
I still like both
Alright /mu/. Sunflower or Surf's Up?
well pet sounds was actually finished
>>64148924
surf's up has student demonstration time, thus sunflower is better.

Sunflower
>>64148924
tough choice, both have a lot of duds, but i'd lean towards surfs up

Pet Sounds. SMiLE WOULD have been better but at this stage sounds clearly unfinished (it is at least a 9/10 for me though)
>>64148924
sunflower
>>64148924
I give the edge to Sunflower as it's more consistent throughout.
Don't Go Near the Water and Student Demonstration Time ruin Surf's Up imo even if the last three tracks + feel flows & long promised road are brilliant

none

Sunflower and I don't think it's that close. Surf's Up has some great highs, but really isn't that consistent. Sunflower is amazing start to finish imo.
To answer OPs question, I go back and forth but have been leaning towards Pet Sounds lately.
