Because if you want to make music, make music, not a game.
Game soundtracks are great when they are written by good artists. But surprise, more than half of these shits aren't recognized by anyone outside of music industry.
Ultimately, most of them simply copy popular music of their time, or even several years before. No one buys games for soundtracks, and for any more or less talented musician, writing for video games would be a waste of talent.
