What the fuck do people see in this album? God I find it so fucking unbearable. Their first 5 or so albums are great, but this is just pure shit. It's so cheesy and toothless, the worst kind of adult-contemporary junk.

I like the melodies, his voice, the arrangements and the overall comfiness. I feel like REM earned the right to sell out tbqh, and they did it rather well. it astounds me when people fail to acknowledge the full extent of their influence on the alternative scene (and subsequently what we know as rock music today)
