yeah, Foreign Affairs is his worst studio album surely
still, I listen to A Sight For Sore Eyes, Potter's Field and Burma-Shave regularly but practically never want to listen to any single track on Glitter and Doom (or Big Time for that matter, but it's much better than G&D)

He's basically like that sad old guy that you always see at your local dive or cafe who's always waxing philosophical with people half his age, because he never did anything substantial with his life, and enjoys being a big fish in a small pond -- Waits just happened to be slightly more charasmatic than your typical barfly/cafe-lurker, and he found a niche.
If I ever feel like I'm slowly becoming this type of cliché, I'm drinking bleach.
