Man Is The Bastard might be the heaviest band ever desu it's the most extreme hardcore punk mixed with throbbing power electronics and it hurts to listen to in a good way

At first I thought "Gorguts" said "Gogurts" and I was like damn okay I'll check out a band named Gogurts.

>>64127510
All I've listened to from your grid is Grouper.

>>64127625
Damn I don't think I've ever seen Moving Mountains on here. Props to The Body too. I haven't listened to that MM album as much as Waves though.

>>64127758
Your grid looks like my old retail store's playlist. Just missing like twenty Spoon songs.

>>64127963
Magnog's album art looks cool. Rec me a song from that one?

>>64128184
Dude some albums are meant to be heard the whole way through from start to finish

Magnog's s/t is one of those albums.

I completely agree actually. Eight of my top ten albums are definitely intended for listening straight through; I love when one song flows to the next. I'm a minute into Lost Landing now.
>>
>>64128245
Hope you enjoy it
It's a criminally underrated spark of genius from the post-rock genre.
>>
>>64128279

Yeah I'm into this so far. The acoustic guitar against the ambiance is great.

>>64128231
Thanks for the rec man! I'll check it out after a few more minutes of Magnog.
>>
>>64128300
As an album it gets way towards the final half. The fucking last two tracks are god tier. The opener sets the ambience nicely but the album gets so fucking good as it progresses

I don't understand This Heat or Can

I like burial and DC, not that into zombie or ratatat
>>64128184
what'd you think of Junk? I miss their S=Y and Death Cities sound
>>
>>64128173
>have you tried charli's new EP
I listened to it once and thought it didn't work for me, but I'll give it some other tries and see if it clicks.
It definitely doesn't sound like something I'd expect Charli to make.
>>
>>64128625
np. Magnog are seriously underlooked and overrated, they should be getting more attention than fucks like Sigur Ros imo.

There's not much to get, with Can it's how groovy and addicting it is mixed with the anxious, tense and spooky experimental parts. With This Heat it's the constant anxiety and tensness, how urgent everything feels
>>
>>64128625

The singles from it like Do It, Try It and Solitude are good but it's nowhere near as good as Before The Dawn Heals Us (or his first five LPs before HU,WD honestly). I think he's just moved in a different direction and I don't begrudge him for it, but I miss the cinematic feeling. I want the fuzzy droning guitars back.
>>
>>64128823
The tension between the drone sections and the soft melodies on the comedown in great on s/t so far
I might give them another shot once I feel emotionally prepared. Arca might help break me in to that vibe.
>>64128865
me too, im so sick of all this 80s nostalgia or whatever

n_n

i love phantasies and senseitions already
haven't listened to the rest though, roy montgomery's been on my radar for too long

what did you think of that thuja album?
>>
>>64128945

Well I think it could be argued that S=Y is totally 80's nostalgia. But on that album he still kept such a fuzzy synth overall tonality that it didn't seem too... I don't know. Just S=Y had less bass grooving and straight up piano.
>>
>>64129005
Roy Montgomery is sublime definitely listen

Thuja was very nice, a lot prettier than most free folk I've heard.
>>
>>64128945
Take your time, They're not the most accessible artists but when they click boy are they glorious
>>
>>64129110
i listened to roy montgomery on his split with grouper yesterday, but i definitely need to give his full length releases a try

have you listened to Steven R. Smith's solo stuff?
>>
>>64129193
I didn't think I had but I'm looking at these album covers and having faint memories of it. Must have been a really long time ago though; I'll revisit it. Thanks for the rec.

>inb4 I'm a pleb.

These are just gut feeling albums for me. Seems like a lot of these threads are just ego posting about who can pretend to have always had the objectively "best" taste ever.
>>
>>64132062
that's definitely not the vibe of these threads in particular
you're thinking of rym / chart threads
>>
>>64132083
Ah yeah. Probably. I'm not on here too often.

That Amorak album is surprisingly good. Its something I literally just found lying in my basement, can't find any videos of it on youtube, and hardly and thing just through searches.
