ITT: Albums so unbelievably 90s they're cringeworthy

>Being this much of a pleb
You know nothing of production if you think it's a shit album. It's also nothing like 90's music, as there are no albums like the original rage album.

Nice contribution
Aphex Twin has seriously never had good mixing or sound quality
The only one whose production is "above average" is Syro
I won't be bothered to look it up but I'm guessing all elements of mixing and mastering were done by him alone. Seriously mookid is absolutely embarrassing in the EQ and mixing department, even though compositionally its genius
You can actually hear the drums for once on this one
>>64123573
*albums with good mixing
>>64123669
Did they change the zebra crossing?
The fact that this hasn't been posted yet fucking disgusts me. You plebeians should all be ashamed of yourselves.
>>64123707
What about Evil Empire? They sound pretty fucking similar.
oh god him again...
>>64124411
I agree that the electronic treatments and "musical production" are really good on this, but the sound engineering/mixing are amateurish. It's just super compressed
Aja, you plebs.
If we're talking "objective" production values this thing is a heap of ass, but it works with the music and the themes of the album
The Raconteurs-Consolers of The Lonely
>>64123646
I may get shit for this, but I prefer Aenima's murkiness to the cleaner production of Lateralus/ 10,000 Days.
>>64124411
Ok the beats are great, but the mixing it total shit. I started listening to the unmastered version and it is sooooo much better
>>64125589
No I agree completely. For so long I didn't know why I prefered Aenima over their later stuff but that's exactly why.
Probably one of the few albums that make me consider getting a vinyl player.
Every note in this album hits you like a sack of bricks

>vinyl player
Say record player pls
:^)
>>64127460
Which mix do you prefer?
Say what you will but this
All of the Terry Brown produced Rush albums (with the exception of the absolute dogshit Clockwork Angels mix) have excellent mixing.
>>64127713
This. I just realized that I liked their albums for this very reason.
>>64123573
every instrument on that album just.../punches/ i guess, it sounds really nice and thick.
>>64127460
i actually kinda agree if you're talking about the iggy mix. its produced like shit, but my god it fits the album well.
>>64126820
nop, the mixing is fantastic, its the mastering which is bad, which is why the "unmastered" version sounds better.
The production on MBDTF is great, but in the mastering process they raised the volume to the point where it clipped everywhere
>>64124469
We're talking objective production values.
>>64127745
This. Steely Dan's production is ridiculously smooth
>>64127388
Would you like me to call it a Long Play, too?
