Listen to their 2nd album Spilt Milk, imo that one's even better. Also their guitarist Jason Falkner left and went solo after the debut, listen to his solo album Presents Author Unknown. Roger Joseph Manning Jr. had a good solo album too in the mid 00s.
Also, XTC - Skylarking. And just the Beach Boys in general really.

My LRS owner recommended it to me, he sold it to me as "more psychedelic Pet Sounds". That isn't really all that true but the album owns.
