Huge rec to Nick. Definitely my favorite Lattice Collective project so far. I'm liking the fact that you're mixing the vocals up higher and making the beats trippier. I'm loving it.

IMPROVISED MUSIC

check out our new album of improvised jams, Zapadas (vol.2). We're a band, and we jam a lot in our rehearsals between songs, and we also record every single rehearsal we have. So in time I can gather a selection of fragments that sound cool and make them into an album:

>>64106686
im usually not into like droney music but it was very good, it gave me anxiety. not sure what to say as far as feedback other than you could add more weird sound effects to make it creepier. a good example of this is the shining soundtrack just like the trailer music, ya know? just an idea
>>64106709
ive heard plenty of aaron ellis so i listened to the pink pot songs and i really liked it. if it were me id add more starting and stopping cymbals to add to the mechanically moving percussion. does that make sense? I really really like this tho.
>>64106731
i dont usually listen to metal but i like this. it kind of reminds me of early swans or that hidden track at the end of nevermind. i like the ping pong pan at the end of the first track. not sure what to say as far as feedback sorry.
>>64106813
hey i really like this. i sent it to my friend because he likes music like this like herman dune and crywank and stuff and he said "i actually LOVE wyndwood" but yeah good stuff. not sure what to say as far as feedback other than you could add some higher notes to the guitar melody, yknow what i mean?
>>64106817
not sure what to say for feedback because i usually dont listen to this type of electronic music. i like it tho, i like in creepy radiance how all the instruments go crazy and then calm down real quick.
>>64106952
I really like this man it vaguely reminds me of nirvana. not sure what to say for feedback because i think the songs pretty tightly produced and well edited and stuff. very good stuff.
>>64106986

very good im listening to her name whispers... right now. i dont know if youd want to complete these songs since they're rehearsals but if you did you could add some fading in and out ambient things, you know what im saying? like this is a shitty example but the hidden track at the end of the motion picture soundtrack on kid a if you've heard that. its like a hushing type ambient sound. if you added to that to the piano in a way where it contributed to the melody i think it would sound cool. anyways if that doesnt make sense i can try explaining it better but i talk way too much hristsfisfajsldf
>>64108144
i listened to some of zapadas vol 2 and it was very good. its produced tightly enough that im not really sure what feedback to give but i really like it.
>>64108275
not sure what feedback to give but i think you should turn the percussion down a little bit so you can hear the melody up (and so you could also turn the melody up) but yeah nice job man.
>>64108300
i dont usually listen to noise but i like this. it gave me anxiety. not sure what to say for feedback but nice dubs niqqa
>>64108357
i think this is very good and i like the melodies but i think the vocals are a bit too loud and the whole thing in general is a bit too loud but maybe that was intentional.
>>64108637
this is really good i listened to some of the first track. the only feedback i can think of is maybe you could add some synths or organ effect on a piano for a constant pitch that adds to the melody. does that make sense? very good though
>>64109030
this isnt the type of music i normally listen to but i like it. you could add some phasers/flangers and just effects in general to your voice. if your voice was electronic it would go better with the electronic music, unless you're intending to have them be contrasting each other.
>>
>>64111613
>the shining soundtrack just like the trailer music, ya know? just an idea
I know exactly what you're talking about, my older stuff has A LOT more layers than most of my stuff does now, but that's because I was a lot heavier on the noise and plunderphonics aspects of things. I very much appreciate your feedback and it sounds weird, but I'm kind of glad it gives you anxiety because I was trying to give a feeling an uneasiness and etc. Thank you very much though, I appreciate it!

i think this is very good but i think the that you should make the instruments closer together. maybe that's just me tho. it's just went theres a low pitched instrument in the left ear and then a high pitched instrument in the right ear it makes it feel like weird and uneven. the melodies and vocals are very good tho.
>>64109720
this is very unique and i quite like it but i think you should get rid of the dubstep label because i think that would turn off more people than it would turn on but maybe thats just me. good tho, not sure what to say as far as musical feedback.
>>64109882
i think its good but you could mix it more because it feels weird when the whole thing is in mono (im assuming it is anyway) if its only one track and you cant mix it you could just copy and paste the whole track and move it forward just a tiny bit and put each one in a different ear. if that doesnt make sense i can explain it better.
>>64110174
i really really like this and its one of my favorite things in the bandcamp thread. for that terrapin track this is just a matter of preference than quality i guess but if it were me i think it would be cool if you added like a lofi vinyl type sound, you know what im saying? like the soft crunching sound a record player makes when you play a record. i also think the fade in takes a little too long and might wear and peoples patience but i really like it.
>>64110741
this is very very good! i think you could maybe make the thunder sounds have more reverb or just have more thunder in general because the thunder is a really cool part of it and i think there should be more of it, ,yknow? this is also just a weird idea but you could add like really quiet screaming sounds that fade in and out and/or pan from ear to ear. very good tho.

It's my first try with production like this so I'm not very good. Thank you for the suggestion, I will do that on the next release. Also do you know to make it, like, wave in between left and right channels on audacity like on that one Pink Floyd song off of Piper at the Gates of Dawn?
Thank you very much for the feedback though, ily

>>64112775
it kind of takes a while but you can put two channels (one the left channel and one the right channel) and then have the left channel fade out while the left channel right channel fades in and it will sound like its going from one ear to the other but if you want to do it fast back and forth it might take forever.
for me i put it on reaper (which you can get for free) and convert the track to an audio file and put it on reaper, then go into the effects and put on an effect called "ping pong pan".
does all that make sense? im a total fuccing scatterbrain so i can explain it better if it didnt make sense lol

This is heavy, doc. Some really fun, energetic, headbanging stuff here. I agree with the other guy, the guitars generally have that twangy 90s grunge sound, kinda Nirvana-esque. Really enjoyable. My only gripe is that I wish there were more vocals - when I got to Flatlined, I really really liked the vocals I heard.
>>64108275
I'm liking it. Really interesting vocals, I like the auto-tuned sort of sound. Gives me that deep sort of James Blake/Matthew Dear type of vibe. Everything about it is really enjoyable but I think if there's any criticism I have its that the vocals actually stand out a little too much compared to everything else. Aside from that the song structures and just the songs themselves are really great.
>>64107206
This makes me feel like I'm in a lonely forest. In a good way, musically. Some of the more black metal parts remind me of Mount Eerie's brand of black metal. (All this feedback is coming from my listening to Departure)
>>64109516
I love the song itself and the melody and all of that, looking forward to the EP. But for some reason the production makes the track not feel as big as it should. The other reviewer might have a point in saying that everything is panned too far apart. Personally I would up the bass a little bit.
>>64109562
This is pleasant to listen to, 'smooth' might be the best adjective. Even with the good build towards the end and some neat drum fills though, it feels like there isn't a ton going on. Still a very nice, chill track though.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with you about the progression of the track, I've got a desire to write some more dynamic tunes in the future so hopefully we'll overcome that issue. Thanks for listening.

I appreciate feedback more than you can imagine, so please do provide me with some.
Album no. 2 has been written, currently about to record.

i see youre a younglin but heey thats pretty good man.

>>64116380
this is really cool and funny. not sure what to say as far as feedback but i like it.
>>64116694
this is genuinely one of the coolest and most unique things ive seen in a bandcamp thread. awesome job man.
>>64117581
i listened to silk neighborhood and i think its good but i think you should add more overdubs of melodies.
>>64117621
i really like this i sent it to my friend for him to check out. not sure what to say for feedback
>>64119345
again im not really sure what to say for feedback but thats mostly just because its real tight and clean so theres not much feedback to give. i do think thought you should add more tags because they really are more helpful than you would think.like 50 percent of the people who see my stuff get there from the tag ambient so ye.
>>64123458
I like the contrast between acoustic and electronic instruments. im leaveing the window open to listen to the rest of this later because the story in the description makes it seem really interesting.
>>64123481
not really sure how to like listen to your music on this website
>>64124342
i like this but it kind of feels cold and bare. i think you could fix that by adding more instrumentation and percussion, and by mixing it more. good tho.

SCUMMY RECORDINGS COMPILATION TAPE VOL.1

https://scummyrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/scummy-recordings-compilation-tape-vol-1

>Electronic, Hip hop, beats, cloud, Witch house, whatverthefruck.

Put together with some friends and people i met on this board and soundcloud. was supposed to come out last year but shit happens and it's out now. had a great time releasing it.

>>64106731

Reminds me of Dethscalator's "Racial Golf Course, No Bitches" or elevators "eerieconsiliation" in regards to production, that dirty and filthy raw shit. i'm digging it, but please yell a bit more! DETH NARC and LOVE SONG WITH MANY NAMES were by far my most favorite tracks. FOR KELLY threw me off though because i was expecting some YELLING.

>>64108275

Wasn't really into it, just not my cup of tea. I do however like the esthetic of your album cover(s)

>>64108300

Enjoyed this quite a bit, i was expecting some more harsh noise parts in it, but in regards to it being drone and glitch you did hit that nail on the head. Good job! Would like to hear some more (prefferably HN) coming from your project.

>>64108637
this is really neat, nice disparaged lo-fi, but it isn't anything i haven't heard before, but thats not that relevant. Would still bump it on a bummer day.

>>64109030
I thought this was gonna be Death Industrial more akin to power electronics, but was bitterly surprised to find this. I didn't like it. guess it's just not in my palette.

>>64123458
really wasn't into this. It's like something i'd hear for an e-sports bumper or youtube gaming channel intro. i will however commend you for some really solid mastering, nothing sounds out of place, it's just that i'm really not into it.

>>64124342
Liked it, reminded me of Earth's album "Phase 3: Thrones and Dominions". I like it but it kinda was missing the heavy distorted sludginess i was expecting from a drone project like this. regardless of that, it was actually really nice, so i'll give you a thumbs up

Anyone have any experience with music licensing? At the end of the contract it has 3 signature fields (by, name, title) and I'm not sure what the title woul be since I am not signed. Tried emailing the person who sen it to me by they haven't responded yet so I thought I would try to ask here

Thank you man! Yeah, this is my first project where I'm attempting to put my vocals at the top of the mix. It's really hard to find that perfect balance. Glad you enjoyed it.

>>64127519
If you're the only songwriter you only need your signature, that's probably just there in case there's other people getting credit as well.

thank you a heap, was it you that listened all the way through? Was my first venture into this genre so I'm certainly gonna keep exploring it now, and will definitely do more in the heavier harsher side of things.
this comp tape of yalls is nice though, the production is good and concise on these tracks and it feels homogeneous for the most part. gonna keep it rollin

I really like this its very strange and unique and diverse. as far as feedback on the track curtains you could add like harp glissandoes, but just an idea. the boy who lived in the city is a good track too but i think you should add more instrumentation.
>>64125326
not sure what to say as far as feedback because al the songs are by different people. like the first song tho
>>64125422
i quite like this but i think you could turn down the percussion and/or make the guitar a little less distorted because its hard to hear the melody.(idk if the other tracks are like this but i listened to what you know and how low you can go)
>>64125667
i quite like this but two things you should consider is one, that the tracks/album names might seem a little too godspeed ish and two, i listened to the first track and i think it should like ratchet up more and gradually get louder, yknow? its good tho
>>64125683
all of this is good but my favorite parts are the more dark ambient parts nice job man. i listened to some of dry flames burning... and its good but i think you should add more cymbals/hihats/crashes that type of thing, yknow? like the percussion isnt very diverse but maybe thats just me. but thats a very minor thing.
>>64127492
i like the melodies and the contrasting instrumentation of this. i think if you wanted you could add some stuff and mix some stuff up and turn it into a really cool dream pop album.
>>64129332
this isnt really my thing but i enjoy it. as far as feedback i think you could make the percussion and bass sound a little more diverse sounding.
>>64129589
this is good and i like the intro a lot. i do think that at a few parts like 0:39 ish or 1:30 you could make it less mono but maybe that was intentional
>>64129748
its good and especially for just sessions of messing around. i think you could mix it up a bit more and also i think you could make the guitars a little less distorted because its hard to hear the melodies.

this is pretty weird but its still enjoyable. i do think you could add more diverse instrumentation tho.
>>64130679
this is very good. are you inspired by ariel pink? as far as feedback the only thing i can really think of is that i think you should add more defined melodies. the songs seem to have multiple melodies scattered together but no central melody. nothing you could really whistle along too like you would with a pop song, but maybe that was intended.
>>64130889
this is very weird but i like it. i listened to some of trains memories night and i liked the synths on train. on night tho i think you should have more contrast between loud and quiet but its good man
>>64132350
heeey this is pretty good it makes me tap my feet lel. i think you could add some more ringing percussion like cymbals, hi hats or triangle
>>64132711
i listened to some of Aspartame and Sucralose and i liked it a lot. i think when it ratchets up near the end that you could add some more percussion to make it a little heavier. like you could add basic rock percussion or you could add like timpanis. just an idea
>>64133255
i dont usually like black metal but i like this. especially the first half of the first song. i think you could add more diverse instrumentation tho, because it mostly sounds like just drums and distorted guitar.
>>
>>64133360
>this is very good. are you inspired by ariel pink?
thanks, no i've never heard of them. yeah a lot of my songs are pretty scattered melody wise. i like to split attention across everything and it can make it hard to catch things
