Their logical following was Blink, Green Day, and nowadays Fallout Boy and 5SOS. Barely famous people amidst cheap-ass rap productions.

I disagree. Limp Bizkit (and other nu-metal bands like them) killed mainstream rock, along with horrible post-grunge and butt rock bands like Creed, Breaking Benjamin, and Theory of a Deadman. I don't think the Offspring had that much, if anything, to do with mainstream rock's downfall.

Okay I'm not a Green Day fan but even I know that's not fair to them. For one, Green Day formed only two years after The Offspring and both Dookie and Smash were released in the same year (and Dookie came first). So it's inaccurate to say Green Day followed The Offspring unless you're referring to their revival in popularity in the 2000s with American Idiot. Two, while I haven't listened to Green Day and The Offsping in depth, I have listened to quite a few of both bands' songs and I can confidently say that most of the Green Day songs were better than The Offspring songs.
