It's my favourite album, OP. Check out Boris'other stuff too while you're at it; they haven't done anything exactly like Flood again but a lot of their output is fantastic.

love this album, one of the first times i listened to it i popped a hydro on a bus trip and listened to this album. during Flood I it started to kick in an i felt like the looping guitar was just sucking me in like waves in a flood, a truly magical experience.

Amplifier Worship has some great songs, but a few of them just sound like unrefined versions of their later sound.
I think their top 3 are Flood, Pink and Noise.

That would be a bit of a stretch, but it was very influenced by J-Pop. That's why I thought it would be more popular on an anime board.
Why is is so hard to get a hold if their albums? Both digitally and physically. I think total I was only able to find 14 of their albums on the archive, and Spotify only has like 5 which is bullshit. Their albums are expensive as fuck too, even on Discogs.

OP here. I've listened to Heavy Rocks and Flood. I definitely think I like Boris' drone stuff more, so where should I go from here? also, are there any other good artists that make music similar to that of Flood?

Be warned, almost all of Boris' drone stuff is a lot heavier than what they did on Flood. Amplifier Worship, as >>64108303 recommended, has a calm moment (kuruimizu IIRC) that is rather similar to Flood; but apart from that the album is far more about heavily distorted, bassy guitar work with tons of feedback. It sounds great if you can stand it.
If you generally liked the chillness of Flood parts I and IV, then Mabuta no Ura is something you should check out. It's not droney at all, though.
If you're cool with more metallic drone, then you should check out Amplifier Worship and The Thing Which Solomon Overlooked series. If you like it you should definitely listen to Absolutego, and try listening to other drone metal artists such as Sunn O))) and Earth.
Speaking of Sunn O))), I just realised that their collaboration with Boris, Altar, has a great 30 minute drone track (Her Lips Were Wet With Venom) that lies between harsh drone metal and the more minimal Flood style. You should try that out first, I guess. Also check out the other songs; The Sinking Belle is in particular an absolutely beautiful piece.

Pick any Boris album between like 98 and 06 as they're best and your opinion is still valid t b h. People generally choose Flood and Feedbacker, which are both amazing, but then Heavy Rocks is also the coolest fucking hard rock album ever.
