yeah it's quite inspired as a breakup song really, has been my anthem at times
Nothing has come closer to capturing depression, hopelessness and the drive for self destruction for me than this album. So many "sadcore" albums are all the same reverb drenched annoying self pitying bullshit, but Hissing Fauna encapsulates the feeling of bleakness without any shitty gimmicks. It's just raw as fuck, delivered in such a bright tone that the lyrics really shine on their own and don't rely on the same stale gimmicks to create the illusion of sadness. The metaphors Kevin uses just really hit home, and there's nothing at all like it.
The EP that came with it is great too. If I kill myself it's gonna be to No Conclusion.

Saw them live once. They came like 45 minutes late, but they had cool balloons and projectors and shit.
