Who thinks it's bad?
No one thinks it's bad. But it is widely considered to be their weakest effort. Still, it is better than 90% of other post rock albums.
Everything in Godspeed You! Black Emperors discography is at least a 7.5/10.

I like it for Motherfucker=Redeemer but the rest of the songs are just a bit too muted I find. There's a lot of slow passages and quiet bits instead of the slowly-buling rhythms from LYSF.
Most of the dislike comes from the fact that it isn't as crescendocore as their other records.

seriously Asunder is brutally underrated. Piss Crowns Are Trebled is one of the best songs Godspeed have ever come out with, easily as good as some of the early stuff, better in some cases too.
