Replace Tomhet wtih Rundgang um Die. Both are masterpieces but I feel like the 25 minute ambient suits Hvis Lyset Tar Oss more. And Tomhet can go on Filosofem to shorten it down a bit.
Also toss in Et Hvitt Lys Over Skogen. For some reason Varg never put it on any album but it is one of his best songs. I think it would fight fine between Det Som Engang Var and Hvis Lyset Tar Oss (the song).

I think it's intentionally trying to capture the statements and feelings of a young person rejecting the mainstream culture and values of 1990s America. So in a sense, it can be considered edgy, but no more so than "Closer", I believe.
I feel that it also does indeed belong on the album from a concept-specific point of view. Plus the song just fucking rocks.
