Never listened to his stuff. All lofty declarations like that though ("the next Bob Dylan" is another lazy classic) are almost always ridiculous.

What I don't like about his approach is that the best super lo-fi albums (Bee Thousand, Roman Candle, Glow pt. 2 imo but that's another discussion) use the shitty recording to add charm or emotion or atmosphere to the music but his doesn't sound like it does any of that. At least, what I've listened to. My best friend was obsessed with Twin Fantasy for a while so I tried to listen to it out of curiosity and I couldn't make it past the first two tracks I was bored out of my goddamn skull

I dunno. I don't listen to most of the music that I make but that's mostly because all the music I make is pretty garbage. If I wrote something that I was proud enough of I think I'd definitely listen to it but maybe I'd always be too busy listening to the flaws or something.
