Money is a good song, but it's not as good as the others. And it doesn't fit. It may in terms of the lyrics being appropriate for the theme of the album but not at all musically.
And remember that we're discussing the song in the context of someone claiming that the album is flawless. Well then every song has to be flawless and Money certainly is not.
>>64053280
Also i don't even know where you got a mixing error from.

Dark Side of the Moon seems ethereal, slow and smooth to me. Money is none of those things.
It's a funky song with a hard rock solo. It sounds very fast when compared to the rest of the album. Even the vocals stick out like a sore thumb.
>Then what's the flaw?
I don't think of Money as having any serious, glaring flaws. But are you actually claiming that it's a flawless song? If you tell us that you genuinely think it is a perfect song then I'll take that up with you as I'm sure most people here would.

I love that part. The fade into white noise, with II. picking up with more white noise but shifting it to sound like a beach/waves is one of the highlights of the album for me. I envision that part as Phil washing up on a beach before his trek up mount eerie.

I didn't say it has no flaws. I asked you whether or not you think it's flawless which you didn't seem to want to answer directly. Do you think it's a perfect, flawless song?
You're responding to me as if I said "Money fucking sucks... worst song I've ever heard". All I've said is that it doesn't fit the album and that it's not perfect. Many people agree with me about the former and virtually everyone would agree with me about the latter.

None yet. Someone didn't read the lyrics and didn't know it thematically fit, and another guy only liked the mellow songs (and forgot the bombastic crescendos of Us & Them and Eclipse... Not to mention Time and On The Run are as uptempo as Money anyways, making his point moot).

Being so stubborn makes you look stupid anon.
Music is subjective to taste and experiences. You will never play a song exactly the same as the last time.
Technically the recordings will have variances too that amps and speakers screw up, so you'll never hear exactly the same thing.
Wanna get technical, fine.
Pink Floyd fans are the Bernie Sanders supporters of music. And I say that as someone who really likes both.

Money is an okay song in an album filled with great songs, even accounting for the fact that it is a relic of the time when albums had multiple sides and it was essentially an introduction to part ii of the album. It is a very vanilla and frankly boring jazzy/bluesy number in an album whose other tracks were reaching for a "transcendent" quality. The song is merely okay even when isolated and is positively bad in lieu of the other songs on that album.

Exposure and interaction with stupid people is best kept at a minimum, else your own mind becomes maladaptively suited to dealing with that kind of stimuli and avenue of thought. Life and the world would probably be net better if a good deal of websites didn't exist.

What song didn't fit "my reality"? What "reality" do you think I'm working on?
>>64055318
/mu/ won't admit it, but this one is definitely 10/10
>>64056818
Man, the slide solo on Sway hits me so hard
But I don't know if I'd call this 10/10. The second half (outside of moonlight mile) is kind of disappointing.
>>64057241
so you're judging their production rather than music?
>>64056835
This post is irrelevant because you can literally know nothing about the structure of a song and, if you don't like it's sound, you are correct about it being a bad song because you are referencing your own preference and musical aesthetics is completely subjective.
Notwithstanding, it was composed in either 7/4 or 7/8 time, but this fact is irrelevant since a listener with absolutely no knowledge of the song can deem the song to be bad and be correct. Neither was it innovative to use such a time signature, if innovation tickles your fancy.
The onus is on you to explain exactly, precisely why everybody else must find the song flawless and until you have presented a clear, logically sound, and complete proof that it is flawless, then everybody is correct about their subjective interpretation of the song.
Seriously. Point me to one thing that makes the song "flawless", otherwise it's simply a matter of taste. Tastes can be changed by unforeseen interesting aspects that were missed, so tell me, what exactly about Money should make me appreciate it even a little bit? The time signature? The saxophone? Tell me what, exactly.
>>64057341
This post is bad because production is a large part of the aesthetics of an album, whether it is tied to the music or not.
>>64057468
shit music with great production
great music with shit production

It may have always meant to be there but that doesn't necessarily mean it fits. It's hard to explain, I just think the rest of the album has this ethereal quality to it, sort of melancholy, existential vibes. Money just seems like a total sidetrack to all that particularly with how upbeat it sounds in comparison.

the first side honestly might be the greatest 20 minutes rock has ever produced

still very overlooked

My nigger OM's my favorite band. My personal 10's though are Cherry Peel and Hissing Fauna, but Coquelicot's a fantastic album. The crazy piano riffs and manic compositions make it so intriguing. I actually feel like Barnes was ever so slightly influenced by TMR when making it
>>64057260
Really? I have yet to hear about this, but that'd be fucking dope. Maybe I'll get to see them live!
>>64057090
>>64057201
I actually think you guys look pretty dumb too. It's not that hard to figure out.
What do those songs all have in common? Smells Like Teen Spirit, Light My Fire and Money...
>>64058259
I'm less concerned with if your post appears dumb, and more concerned with how I find it wanting. I'm not satisfied with it.
>>64058053
Black Up is a masterpiece.
>>64058790
-Social and cultural factors relative to personal context
-Perception and subjective experience are generated via the machinery of mind. The mechanical breakdown you just provide, whether it was an attempt to explain why you feel the way you do, or because that's the way you consciously listen, will not apply to everyone.
Music is multifaceted. A lot of things can make an otherwise banal song highly enjoyable, meaningful, or whatever. I don't actually remember much of Dark Side of the Moon, but a lot of things people seem to think is so great and has such depth sounds like a cluttered, boring, droning mess to me. Sounds a bit like everything I've ever heard, and nothin' I want to hear.
>>64057437
>it was composed in either 7/4 or 7/8 time
So thus it is not vanilla.
Thanks for playing
>>64057341
Wouldn't perfect 10s excel in both?
>but that doesn't necessarily mean it fits.
Sure. But in this case it does
>I just think the rest of the album has this ethereal quality to it, sort of melancholy, existential vibes
Oh like On The Run? Or Time?
No of course not. It's all one body of varying emotions. If you want to pick and choose what you like, that's fine. But "I don't like it" =/= flaw
>>64058259
What I said wasn't in regard to that. I even mentioned that I understand those are really popular mainstream tracks from their respective albums, I just said he's putting words in everyone's mouth by making fun of people who say SLTS or LMF are the best songs from those bands when literally no one said it

That album is, in fact, perfect. Great pick.
>>64054188
It's a beautiful album, and one of my all time favourites, but that one fucking song with the jingle bells piano melody fucking takes me out of the moment every time.
>>64060335
lol this album is a little too advanced for /mu/ to be considered a 10/10. you wont get any acknowledgement sorry just letting you know. /mu/ has never taken acid and doesnt 'get' it, its pointless to try and explain its epicness in the psychedelic world. its one of my personal favorite albums ever, the first section of the narrow way is a huge inspiration to me among other parts of the album
in utero
