That album is pretty fucking bad
I'm mostly angry that people actually claimed it was her entry into the alternative scene and higher quality music. It's just a ragtag selection of the sounds that have been trendy in the last couple years, at a very low quality threshold, with some seriously bad "experimental" moments (fuck Woo). I guess if you've only ever listened to Rihanna and Katy Perry in the first place it would seem alternative

Kim Fowley - Michigan Babylon is probably the worst album I've ever heard just for how lazy it sounds. The two songs I can find on YouTube don't really do justice in showing how little effort went into making the album, but the liner notes claim that the whole thing was rehearsed, recorded and mixed in a day. There's over an hour of music on that CD, so at the very least they probably didn't have much time for any retakes or attention to detail.

Kim was trying to re-create the magic that produced Outrageous 30 years earlier. Don't ask me how or why, but you can't really make an album in a day like people did in the '60s.

It may not be your thing, but I'm sure you can see the appeal in an up-beat '60s rock album with a "wild man" lead vocalist and some psychedelic bits thrown in.
