Personally, I love this album and can understand why people connect it with on an emotional level, but what makes it better than something like Person Pitch or even Sleep Cycle?
>>64038372
I've never seen anyone place it above Person Pitch
>>64038372
I definitely think it's better than Sleep Cycle.. Idk man..
Something about Down There is so beautiful.
I just want to pin down the reason why haha. It's definitely my favorite album to listen to whenever I'm feeling grim.
Probably the rawest AnCo album, emotionally. It has a good atmosphere and good pop sensibility too.
>>64038973
its so fucking good. I dont really have a reason why. Maybe its the feeling the songs evoke of being in a trippy bog in the middle of the night crying. My favorite song is Ghost of Books.
>>64039015
AnCo related album, I mean.
>>64038372
Avey is QT
WATERY SYNTHS

laughing hieroglyphic is mine. those lyrics...
>>64039089
he is
damn i didn't even know this existed
It's amazing because Deakin produced it and it was all recorded in "Good House". A place referenced by a few anco songs.
YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL YOU CAN'T HEAR ME.
Anyways all of Avey's stuff outside of AnCo is criminally underrated.
If you listen to live boots of Pullhair Rubeye material before the album released, or even just reverse the album back to normal, it's an absolutely stunning and beautiful album.
Slasher Flicks is a lot like a Centipede HZ, but instead of trying to be monumental or 'epic' it's just fun and sort of groovy. I definitely prefer it to CHz or PW.

This is going to sound so fucked, but I know this album will be even better if my girlfriend ever leaves me. I'm looking forward to it in the strangest way
>>64039243
My gf and I are inseperable, but this album could go well with another loss, like maybe a death in the family or of a friend. I'm pretty fucked.
>>64039203
IDK what they were fucking thinking releasing that album reversed. Listening to it corrected brings a tear to my eye. Wonderful album. A lot of the songs sound straight out of sung tongs. Theres one song that really sounds like Visiting Friends. I think it's Sasong. It is, its sasong.

We had a QUIET thingggggg on the sawgrounddddd, and its a funny little thing....
>>64039441
I hear a sad rain killed the calm sound...

Have you listened to any live recordings from the Pullhair Rubeye tour? They sound a lot better than most AnCo recordings because the instrumentation is so simple. My favorite is 2006-11-27, Philadelphia, PA, partly because it has five great songs that didn't make it to the album.
>>64039555
Thanks man, They on collected animals? downloadin. Pic here was the best day of my life.
>>64039350
Seems like we both are haha
>>64039555
Hmm. Cant find it on collected animals. BUT this here is a live set from 2004 of Avey and Panda. This set has a few songs that are not on any album or ep. It may even be my favorite ANCO songs ever.

Did you look under Avey Tare & Kria Brekkan? It's not just under Avey Tare.
It's the second from the bottom of the list, download link for both video and audio. I don't think it's split though.

I don't see why you need to compare it to Person Pitch or Sleep cycle....
>>64041301
They're all solo albums so it kinda makes sense
Personally, I love this album and can understand why people connect it with on an emotional level, but what makes it better than something like still bummed or american football?
>>64038540
I think its better than Person Pitch. I've always enjoyed Avey's work more than Pandas, I like his abrasive and unconventionally colorful sounds. Panda is too chill for me most of the time.
Down There really takes you "down there" - its a really atmospheric album while maintaining a bunch of tracks that are so dope and groovy that they can stand on their own with no problem.
Its not my favorite album but definitely has a place in my heart.
Intro is amazing, hits me right in the feels and thinking about it makes me want to listen to it. " I wrapped you up and left you hanging upside down "
it's really dope, OP. was just thinking about it today and i still catch myself wanting to emulate some of the vocal melodies and percussion in my music. love Cemeteries and Heather in the Hospital the most.
avey is best anco boy
