Pic related and Blackstar are the only two that have really grabbed me so far, but Ritual Spirit was solid. I'm keen for the Car Seat Headrest and ANOHNI records next month, and now I'm holding out hope that The Avalanches will blow them all out of the fucking water.

Blackstar was really good for me at first but tracks like Tis a Pity and I Can't Give Everything Away were too flimsy for me. The last track felt too cheesy for me and it was really jarring with the theme of the album.
Feelin Kinda Free was cool but I found the vocals a bit whiny at times, especially on To Think That I Once Loved You. Still, quite solid.

I liked FKF a lot because it's so bloody Australian, and living here means that it makes a lot of sense to me. I'm even fairly sure I've been to the beach where they found the Taman Shud body.

a lot of people seem to share this feeling, but i really dont get it. The percussion on this is different and more pronounced than anything he's done before, and the vocal recordings are incredibly haunting and make it his most human album.

Well, maybe it'll grow on me over time. Virgins is my favorite and that one took a good six months for me to fully appreciate. It's jut that especialy early album feels a little too, I dunno, obviously synthy to me. Not in the "whoa how the hell did he synthesize those sounds" way such as on Harmony in Ultraviolet.
The vocals are extremely nice though.
