Cocteau Twins, or at least that album, represents everything I hate about dream pop. Cheesy effects, vocalist that sounds like every other dream pop vocalist, and every song sounds like every other dream pop songs. Maybe it did it first, and that should be celebrated, but to me, it hits every wrong note.
I feel like that Grouper album is going to grow on me with time, and I will rate it higher when that happens.
