People generally like metal because of how intense, violent, and complex the music is, but I can easily why someone wouldn't like it.

to what you just posted. It seems so much more crazy and harsh. I mean Sister Ray by the VU even is way harder than any metal I've heard. Yeah metal has satanic lyrics sometimes and people grumbling but it just all seems like really calculated. There's no chaos to any metal I've heard.
I don't know, maybe I'm being unfair. I didn't hate what you posted but I'm just not going to listen to it regularly because it just doesn't feel like anything interesting.

Yeah Les Rallizes Denudes were really heavy, but like you said metal is much more calculated. It's not just over the top loud noise like Merzbow or something.
People like because it's designed to be chaotic, while something like Tokyo anal dynamite is just harsh noise, no real design or structure.

Like, Not that melding the chaotic and the designed isn't interesting, I just don't buy any metal as chaotic. I mean I don't even understand what people mean when they call heavy metal "harsh". Could you link some really hard metal that you consider too harsh for normal people?
I just have never seen metal as either complex or chaotic. Just constructed to look like chaos in a really blatant and simple way.

Eh, that's debatable. I mean it's not the most complex thing ever. but people say that Radiohead has really complex design and I would say that if Radiohead has it, then Gorguts has it.

I once played a song from that album in front of a group of normal people. And let's just say they reacted 'poorly.'
Most normal people I know think stuff like megadeth and Metallica are really "harsh."
If you want to hear some harsher metal you should probably check out Darkthrone or Earth, neither of those are as harsh as Les Rallizes Denudes, but you might like them.
If you want to hear complex metal you should check out some progressive metal like Opeth. (I personally don't like them though.) or something like Ved Buens Ende-written in waters (which I love.)
In general I don't it's fair to call metal "harsh," or compare it to noise.
