I think it's harder to get views but if you can manage to get enough views in a time frame he momentum will propel it forward unlike soundcloud which will completely stop unless you keep changing the groups you added to.

I think he's talking about adding your tracks to groups. Like if you stop adding or re-adding your tracks to groups the plays will just stop completely. And in YouTube if your videos just gets views overtime(idk why), personally speaking.

well, for what i do i don't have any visuals, my videos are mostly just black or sometimes i have a photo that pan/scans. i don't really promote them except to groups and forums who are into what i do. i don't use it for music though, i do field recordings and nature recordings. it's very niche so people seem to find my channel when they search for that sort of thing, or when they search for some of the equipment i use my channel might come up as well. i don't have tons of views but a couple thousand in 6 months for a totally unpromoted personal youtube channel is neato. got over 100 subscribers as well.
