Best bands of all time?
nah but they're still good
>>63906503
I don't think their music is the best but their impact on music, and all the crazy shit they did brings them wayyy up there. If any of the member had been replaced it definitely would've changed their sound drastically, they all went together so well
so is this a thread where we all share favorite bands or...?
>>63907062
pretty much
I like old floyd better, Syd's my favorite
>>63906503
They're up there with the best. A unique concoction of musicians and styles made such a crazy sounding blues band. They're honestly overlooked outside of America, they're pretty much the most bluesy blues rock band ever.
Led zeppelin. Prove me wrong
This will be my eternal tie.
At least their 70s run, I need to be in the right mood to enjoy their 80s and onward material.
The Beatles, of course. There will never be another band so popular yet so genuinely innovative and infuential.

I honestly enjoy newer Floyd (Post-Wall) the same as pre-Wall Floyd. Their sound had definitely changed after Syd left, and after Roger left, but such changes were not detrimental imo.
Rick's prob my favorite
>>63910683
Rick is God.
1974 Frank Zappa and The Mothers was the best band of all time.
>>63910741
I'm a casual fan, (only heard 30ish albums) who was in the band at that time?
>>63910535
ELP > Yes
>>63910927
Mainly, George Duke, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Ruth Underwood, Bruce Fowler, Tom Fowler, Ralph Humphrey, Chester Thompson,
But depending on the show there could be, Ian Underwood, Don Preston, Jeff Simmons, Walt Fowler, Jean-Luc Ponty, and/or Sal Marquez
first good band in the thread

Sorry...but I have to agree on that one. ELP is a masterpiece of God.
I haven't been on /mu/ for a while so I'm not sure if this is some new troll thing or most of you just have /b/-tier taste
except you

>>63911083
Oh yeah, the roxy line up!
Also the kickstarter hit 1 million a few hours ago!
>>63909642
it's easy to be the best band when all your songs are covers of better bands
Obviously

>"Yeah, my music taste is pretty weird. Iggy Pop, David Bowie, the list goes on... I guess you could say I was born in the wrong generation."
>>63911428
nice defense of Yes, Led Zeppelin, Queen, the Beatles, and Emerson, Lake, and Palmer
doesn't really make sense but you tried I guess
>>63910396
nice taste family
Floyd
>>63906503
Anybody who hates the Doors is being contrarian. They're up there.
How has pic related not popped up yet? This is /mu/ after all.
>>63912741
They're way up there too
Kevin's a great songwriter, Bilinda's the cutest qt. Colm's insane at drumming, and Debbie's a les so she's automatically good at bass
>>63907062
Roger was the best and creating meaningful lyrics. Although he pushed too far into his own personal experiences, his lyrics bring out emotions in people. Syd was like somebody seeing the world through a child's eyes.
Pink Floyd eras
1. Waters
2. Syd
3. Gilmour
>>63913420
They all were great at what they did
Pink Floyd Eras:
Roger = Syd = David
The Velvet Underground
