For everyone here who doesn't have a clue. Basing songs and lifting entire riffs, passages, and melodies from other songs was quite common in those days. Paul McCartney recalled in an interview about running into bassists he was influenced by and lifted lines from. They all thought it was ok as as pretty much everybody did it. Jimi Hendrix admitted to Jeff Beck when they first met that he used Becks guitar parts from Yardbird songs on some of his riffs.
This was normal in Blues and Jazz for decades. Standards have been written that were lock stock and barrel virtual rewrites of earlier material or even current hits of the time which some of them themselves were work overs of earlier songs.
