What is your favorite jazz album and why?
inb4 17 years olds who "listen to all types of music" post Love Supreme, Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, Kind of Blue, Shape of Jazz to Come, or one of the other 4 jazz albums they've heard.
Sonny Sharock - Ask the Ages
It serves as a cool soundtrack when I'm pretending my own Legend of Zelda adventures in my bedroom.

What should I listen to if I just heard this last night and it blew my mind?

You sound really insecure
i don't like jazz because it sucks

i was not into jazz prior to this album
Herbie is already one of my favorite artists regardless of genres, and this is my favorite of his '60s period
I like Dixieland jazz and some of the older fellas like Jolson, Whiteman, The Mills Brothers and my pal, Satchmo. If it's got a good beat than that's enough to get the old juices flowing. Columbo and Vallee were overrated hacks.

this
Also Brilliant Corners and In a Silent Way.

Is this keyboard or acoustic piano?
Thelonious Monk - Monk's Dream
>>63866738
Acoustic piano. I think the first album in which Herbie plays electric piano is Miles in the Sky, released 1968
Don't really have an all time favorite, but My Favorite things would probably be my current favorite. Also liking Mingus Ah Um

Anything by Young Thug.
listen and you'll know why.
Anything by Phish just because they're like jazz without the boring shit

I always thought Thelonious Spunk would make a good porn star name

Try 'The Summer Sessions' by a band called Causa Sui. You won't regret it.
