the first 2 albums are legit and even many of the deep cuts are worth hearing. 3rd album is alright but a step down, less worthwhile deep cuts. then it's just a haze of meh and singles until WL which is pretty good, probs their 3rd best

these guys idolized these old rock musicians so much that they became purists, which is the opposite of what those original musicians wanted. they turned a genre of rebellion and rule breaking into the opposite of what it's supposed to be.

This is pretty much correct. There are some pretty good deeper cuts on One By One though (Low, Disenchanted Lullaby, Halo, Come Back), the best FF songs until the good songs on Wasting Light (Bridge Burning, Rope, White Limo, Arlandria & Walk) even though it's often maligned as their worst album. The third album is really chill which is nice, it's pretty solid overall. Their last album sucked ass.
