Reposting my brief analysis:
Nice, I like those wavy vocals in the middle. The guitar riff is somewhat repetetive, but it works in a good way because it modulates enough. Plus there is a lot of other stuff going on to hone in on. This is a well crafted portion of the song. He knows that once we get the idea of the riff, we will move our attention elsewere. He adds layers almost right as we begin to move our attention.
I am eager to hear more.

It was pretty much what I expected it to sound like, maybe a bit more creepy/atmospheric rather than harsh and gritty like the live version. Looking forward to seeing how the vocal section and the 'Bring the Sun' reprise turn out.

For just 2 minutes theres so much going in and out of the track, its fucking incredible. The production gets better with each album, only down side is that it takes away from the eerie, hollow bleakness the Seer had.
My prediction is:
Seer>TGM>TBK
Notes: To me Seer is a 10/10 and is one of my favorite albums of all time, TBK is a 9/10

I think it'll be more like The Seer than To Be Kind, but the louder and longer songs will sheer more in common with the TBK production, that very clean and crisp sound, The Seer was a little "muddier" by comparison.
It'll be like The Seer in the sense that there's more variety, more shorter songs and lighter moments. I just hope these can stand strong on their own, instead of being little complementary pieces to a holistic listening experience. Which is what some of that 2nd half of The Seer felt like.

I'm a tad bit worried about these track lengths. I tend to prefer the 8-12 minute tracks to the 20 minute ones. I hope they don't let me down, it's a lot of time to fill on a lot of songs, hopefully they remain interesting throughout without getting too repetitive, and yes there is such a thing as too repetitive even for swans.

I almost wish this was more straightforward and obvious. I'm starting to stand more with Gira as the testimonies given so far, even from people who have no reason to defend him, seem to support the idea that she's making this up for publicity. I think the final straw broke when Margaret Morris came out and said she'd seen Larkin do stuff like this before when she went off her medications. Then came Gira's turn, and apparently she tried to accuse him of rape before, but got caught bullshitting. After reading up about it I'm siding with Gira. She's full of shit. yeah honestly I can't wait just because Gira said this one had a lot more subtle delicate parts, which you can hear just a little bit of in the excerpt with the piano, but I kinda wish they would bring back the dark ominous vibe that the seer had going on. I guess Gira's thinking in a pretty positive headspace though so this change is pretty understandable. Anyway, I'm looking forward to it a lot. Honestly, the one and only Swans show made me feel a bit uncomfortable with how cultish the whole thing seemed. It's hard for me to come to grips with the fact that Michael Gira is such a violent asshole.
The rape allegation pushed it over the edge for me. I won't be buying this album or seeing him on tour this time around.

I think the fact that Gira straight-up said that they used the excerpt because the new track grew out of improvisation based off Bring The Sun, etc. seems kind of hacky to be honest.
I almost always hate it when artists try to "explain" their art, and I think that it would have been much more effective for him to have left in the excerpt and let the audience discovered it themselves.
I have a really bad feeling about this album...I think that Gira is trying to ride the wave of To Be Kind a little too hard this time. The excerpt that is posted in the OP uses a lot of the same instrumentation and production techniques as most of To Be Kind and that shit kind of gets on my nerves.

On another note, where do I go with Swans after TBK and SFTB? I want some more dark as hell post-rock stuff like SFTB specifically. I also liked the noise rock parts on TBK, though. I have a copy of Filth that a friend got me but I've never listened.
