This has got to be one of the gloomiest and empty records I've ever came across

Also these artists are all pretty depressing and bleak:
Elliott Smith

Joy Division

I really love music with layered instrumentation but also passionate performances behind the layered instrumentation, for instance my favorite band is Arcade Fire cause they have this wall of sound layered instrumentation but they also have a pretty melancholic passionate mood to them, unlike say the The Beach Boys who would also have a wall of sound

Bonus points if the songs are about childhood nostalgia

Really looking for "Industrial" music. Not the genre, but like metal clanging noise like Akira Yamaoka, Kristoffer Nystroms Orkester, Takumi Ogata, and that one Herbst9 vs. Z'EV album.

I'm looking to music similar to the melancholic side of Bardo Pond music. There's a peculiar feeling that I associate to distended and "languid" guitar distortions. I found this also in some Les Rallizes Denudes tracks. Any recs?

Give me something like Broken Social Scene's nostalgic creative indie rock

Or something like Sigur Ros with ethereal dream poppy post rock (especially Agaetis Byrjun and Untitled) but with more interesting melodies, as much as I love Victory Rose I feel like they fall back on cheap post-rock tricks to elicit emotion a lot and I want something that has some more surprises

a lot of my favourite music seems to feature one or two of the following:

slow and heavy droning bits/riffs
sample based compositions
funky beats

anything that fits that criteria would be great. For reference, my top 5 favourite albums are Dopethrone, Since I Left You, Eccojams, The Mollusk and Empty Bliss Beyond This World
>>
More like Comus - First Utterance

I've listened to their EP, all three albums, and their live albums and I still want more.

I dunno about slow and heavy but if you want funky beats with lots of droning and repeating guitar riffs check out some krautrock my dude

More like:
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Built to Spill - Perfect from Now on
Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West

I want to hear more like:

Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans

Jose Gonzalez - All three of his albums sound the same so

Iron and Wine - Our Endless Summer Days and Woman King (I know Iron and Wine is a meme shut up)

Animal Collective - Sung Tongs

The Beatles - Sgt Peppers (I like the psychedelic rock. Any suggestions on where to start in this genre?)

I like Ween's song "Ocean Man." The rest of The Mollusk is really good too but I mainly want to hear more like Ocean Man.

Please greentext a section of this reply and post a suggestion if you have one.
