As a whole i'd say that 2014 was a shit year for music. However at this point, there were plenty of great records that year, maybe the best ones of 2014. It was a weird year because not many big artists were releasing records, just like in this year.
2015 was in my opinion the second greatest year for music in this decade so far (the first being 2012). A lot of good records by a lot of bands were being released (I remember at some point I was like "shit, every band I like is dropping something this year")
