grimes, mac demarco, the unicorns, are all from Vancouver and dirty beaches is from Toronto and lives in Asia. Barely from Montreal but if you consider living in montreal for 2 years enough to be quebecois than you do you

>>63812481
no she'd from Vancouver but she started making music in Montreal and has always identified with Montreal
also, if you think French Canadian = French you've got another thing coming boyo
>>63812510
Tim Hecker's from Vancouver too
Mac Demarco, Alex Calder, Blue Hawaii, Homeshake, TOPS, Braids & Sean Nicholas Savage are from Edmonton
Lydia Ainsworth is from Toronto
Majical Cloudz is from Halifax
Tonstartssbandht are from Florida
Ought is made of ex-pats from everywhere
Only Régine from Arcade Fire is native to Montreal
point is, that list is all musicians who have lived in Montreal and have identified with the Montreal music scene. as far as I'm concerned, they should be considered Montreal musicians
if it weren't for ex-pats looking for cheap rent and cheap tuition, Montreal wouldn't have a music scene
also, Dirty Beaches lives in L.A. now and puts out music as Last Lizard

if you live in quebec and speak english you're just a quebecer who speaks english.
