best to worst is the chronological order, with a power gap after discovery

Discovery = RAM > Homework >>>> HAA

Personally I prefer RAM over discovery, RAM is one of my personal top ten favorite albums.

ROCK
>>
Homework >>>> Discovery > RAM > HAA

seriously why is Homework so heavily underrated?
>>
people actually like RAM?

even HAA sounds better to me, even when they where making pop music they had this rawness and this loopy funkiness from house, but none of that energy is in RAM, it's a boring soft rock album made by two guys with too much money and time

Agreed. There are so many good ideas on RAM that are either half baked or killed midway. They advertised a Disco record but stripped it of everything the genre is known for. Especially when bands like Flight Facilities and Todd Terje are making some great nu-disco, this was a huge disappointment. Tracks Like "There But For The Grace Of God" by Machine sound more modern and electro influenced 40 years ago than RAM did.

Also the holier-than-thou "this is real music" bullshit stank.

It was rather refreshing and pleasant to the ear to me. The production quality is top-notch, and the lack of much interesting and complex tracks, though generally a bad thing, I found to be quite pleasant. Though a lot of it is uninteresting and "soulless," There are also a few gems hidden in the album, such as Touch, Mothership, and Contact. I also think "Instant Crush" uses some of Julian Casablancas' best vocal work.

Clean/10

6/10, it has aged better than HW but it's still not great

5/10, not even close to being on par with the late Alive album

2/10, self explanatory

7/10, really the only worthwhile Daft Punk album

4/10, fuck nu-disco. I hated it when Arcade Fire did it and I hated it again.

Homework > HAA > Discovery > RAM

And I really like RAM

Who started the disco revival in pop music of 2013? I recall that RAM won the AOTY Grammy that year, and Get Lucky won record of the year and best collab, against Blurred Lines and Uptown Funk (both also nu-disco tracks that were insanely popular when they came out). Who started that trend that lasted for about a year, fading into obscurity afterwards?

I have been listening to Daft Punk for 14 years now and I'm not saying Discovery is bad it's just gone stale for me. Conversely I don't think a week has gone by in 7 years that I don't listen to Homework
>>
>>63813222

I'm guessing it faded out after Robin Thicke and Pharell got sued by Marvin Gaye's family over Blurred Lines and Gaye's family won the case

Daft punk is babby's first electronic music. If you delve into the genre and listen to any number of records but still think Daft Punk is a band with 9/10 releases you have nostalgia goggles on
>>
Homework 5.5/10, their best LP.
Discovery 4/10
Human After All ?/10, probably very bad if even Daft Punk fans dislike it.
RAM 3/10, bloated and pretentious.
>>
>>63816171
I didn't get into Daft Punk until 3 years ago. Listened to tons of other house (electronic is not a genre) before that and some of there stuff is some of my favourite house music.
