Been to many shows alone. Gotten' laid after at least two and met and made many new friends. Smoked hash spliffs with Portuguese guys. Had some great times.

i generally refrain from going to shows because
a) no one i care to see ever comes to my state
b) i have no one to go with

Going to shows alone is only cool if it's a standing room/general admission show. If it's a show with assigned seating, going alone is awkward for you and the people around you.

Nothing wrong with going to shows alone. I do it all the time. I save money, I don't get into fights, I meet my friends at the show. I have a good time all by myself. I went to a show all by myself last night and had fun. And nothing wrong with wearing ear plugs either. In my line of work it's essential.
