i have never enjoyed an album less than pinkerton. there's definitely worse out there, i'm sure - i just haven't found it yet.

Pulse Demon, Merzbeat, and Hybrid Noisebloom are all unlistenable garbage to me, I don't really see myself ever attempting to listen to any other noise because of those albums.
I respect the opinions of noise fans and I don't shitpost about noise not being music, but honestly I'd be lying if I said that I thought noise had any value as a piece of entertainment in my mind.
Also fuck that Kazumoto Endo album too.

What you tried to listen to was NOT usual noise, it was harsh noise. Harsh noise is of course and awful introduction to the noise genre, one should start with more gentle albums for example:
Loscil - Plume: This album is considered White Noise, that is basically a mix of ambient and noise, this one concretely is more ambient than it is noise.

Now if you say, well no shit that is not even noise, I want to listen to noise not a mix of genres. Then try something like Yellow Swans, again, much more gentle than Merzbow and all these Harsh Noise artists. This one is a song from Yelow Swans - Going Places, it is pure noise, but it is not harsh noise.

Some of the modulations into, out of, and within instrumentals are pretty fucking cool imo, and it has some really fun tracks like Tired of Sex and The Good Life. It's a controversial album, but I enjoy it.
One of the worst things I've ever listened to.

"Light my Fire" is one of the most ear bleedingly dry things I've ever listened to.
They took the most shallow pop song imaginable and stripped back its only redeeming quality, being fun to listen to.
I don't know why it's called "Light my Fire", it isn't upbeat and funky. It isn't anything, it barely qualifies as music. The only emotion that song evokes in me is making me want to slap the insufferable hipsters that would go on a rant about how modern music like dubstep is crap and then show me this.
I listen to that song out of sheer fascination for how something can be so lame, shitty and nondescript.
Same thing with Crystal Ship. That song doesn't even deserve an opinion

I have never come so close to doing a tuck n' roll out of a speeding car as the time I had to listen to this on repeat during a 60 mile journey. I still get flashbacks.
Makes me feel like I have misunderstood humanity, this isn't even 'stop liking what I don't like' any more, it transcends that, its mere existence is an existential nightmare.
Even if the jokes on me, or if something something irony, one still has to have a functioning auditory system to experience it.
