Why aren't you listening to this album /mu/?
Because my skin is worn thin.
because twing twang is shit
soothing my brain with some in fiction right now
1. I already have, and it's good.
2. I don't listen to music made by terrorists, even if it's good.
>>63775078
but senpai
I am listening to that album
>>63775078
it's good but not great
7/10
It is bad.
great album, i rate it 10/10. best sludge metal album of all time
real question is why are you listening to Panopticon when you could be listening to Oceanic
I don't support radical islam
>>63775193
you do if you don't like Isis
>>63775184
Because Panopticon is vastly superior to Oceanic.
>>63775078
>be 2016
>telling people you "listen to isis"
>>63775243
>2016
>not knowing I am talking about a band and not a US government funded terrorist organization used to scare us into handing over our rights and keep the terror war industrial complex going
>>63775078
Cult of Luna is better
>wanting to be on another watch list
>>63775236
I think Oceanic might be like the pinnacle of post-metal for me
I'm finishing up giving Panopticon another listen. Excellent as always but it just doesn't hit me as hard
>>63775592
Senpai, I am probably on all kinds of watchlists. You probably are too.
>>63775236
>>63775597
Panopticon arguably has better songwriting, but it just loses to the how subtle the emotionality in Oceanic is
>>63775529
CoL is the only band of the atmosludge 4 that does nothing for me
>>63775078
Because I played the shit out of it from 2005 till 2009 ish
>>63775184
Patrician taste. Also my favorite. Panopticon is good, but Oceanic is definitive isis. the Red sea and Celestial are also great.
imo Isis started to go shit after panopticon. too much clean singing and synths, not enough raw power. Oceanic is probably the perfect blend of heavy and light, although my personal favorite isis song of all time is still backlit, from panopticon.
>>63775243
>he didn't know about isis long before ISIL/ISIS became a thing
This is a great age test. Whenever someone mentions terrorists in an isis thread, you know they're probably underage
>>63775078
Because.
>>63775875
I wouldn't call any of their material shit but yeah, their discography certainly got lighter with each release and the later stuff did seem to lose a crucial part of the mix
As for their early material, I prefer Mosquito Control to Red Sea
>>63775895
isn't there a companion album that is supposed to be played alongside this?
been meaning to listen for a long time
>>63775078
cause In the Abscence of Truth and Oceanic are better
>>63775998
It's a brilliant album.
