Almost all "indie rock" has annoying as fuck singers. The the instruments are just kinda boring, but not really offensively bad I guess.

According to iTunes I listen to a lot of Alternative & Punk
I just categorize Slint as rock in my library. I use the word alternative to mean music that's difficult to classify as either rock, metal, pop, hip hop, or electronic. Slint's obviously rock music.

It's just how I categorize my music on my own computer/iPod. I just want to fill in the "Genre" part of the metadata with simple, general genres, not a bunch of specific subgenres.
