What genre is Laughing Stock or Spirit of Eden under? Art Rock? New Wave? Post Rock?
If I want similar stuff which genre is the best bet

If you like Talk Talk check out Hex by Bark Psychosis

Those two albums are post rock, look up post rock essentials and it's all the same idea, but most won't have the New Wave sound that Talk Talk had

It's Beth Gibbons from Portishead with Paul Webb from Talk Talk. It's pretty folky, but it still has a bunch of elements from Talk Talk that made it so unique. The overall tone is similar too.

I got a similar feel from These New Puritans in one song:

O'Rang has some of the same members, but it's a lot more experimental.

Anthony Fantano posted a song from these guys which gave me a Talk Talk vibe.

Already mentioned, but Hex is the same but shittier.

Someone here tried to argue that it was a more refined Talk Talk and sought to fix a lot of the problems with Talk Talk or something, but no one agreed with him.
