>>

>>

>>
it was popular because it was new, different and very aggressive and rebellious making it very popular among mostly teenagers

Why Chillwave didn't last long?

its turned into the white trash music like Korn or Limp Bizkit of the 90's. thats pretty much what it is to me now.

Korns album was interesting but dubstep was better in the south London days n abito Mt eden. I did see nero and he was sick tho
>>
>>63727139
Nero is 3 people
>>
>>63727139
you have fucking terrible taste and have no business citing 'the south london days' as the glory era if you go on to chat about Mt eden and Nero. kindly fuck off m8.

but yeh it died coz it sucked and was a classic example of music turning into a competition. it was just everyone trying to prove they had 'teh biggest wub-wubz'

I'd say it's because there is not much to invent in this particular genre. I mean, pretty much everything sounds comparable to Skrillex. Most of these tracks are enjoyable, but it's still similar sounds.

Brostep didn't last long because it was too highbrow for the EDM folks.
Both the producers, who actually had to put effort into making a tune and the folks listening to it.

If you don't believe me, look at where mainstream EDM went.
Look at some of the Ultra sets this year.

Skrillex is still putting out quality tunes, though.

say what you want but skrillex is definitely one of the most interesting mainstream producers atm

I went through a dubstep phase. I hooked neon's up in my car, and got an aftermarket stereo to bump dubstep hardcore all day.

It was pretty fucking trash. I remember I'd get stoned in my room, raiding on WoW, listening to Dubstep FM all the time.

I grew out of it, and met this chick who was also into Dubstep later in life, and through her friends I realized the only people that still like dubstep are incredibly fucked up on pills.

She was a great fuck, though.

Both Skrillex and Diplo are excellent producers, and they're actually creative. I know people like to bunch em all together, but they're a million miles away from the likes of Aviici or Swedish House Mafia.

They sometimes pop one or two cool tunes but most of their stuff is still very generic.
>>
>>63726958
Honestley it was because you can only do that "late 80's miami vice sunset" so many times before you've heard it all before.
>>
>>63730091
Is Skrillex sound really that different to what he broke out with?
>>
>>63726958
It kind of evolved sort of speak. Started taking more influence from the beat scene. Ex : chrome sparks, spazzkid, odesza
>>
>>63730438
He's producing kpop now.
His latest work https://youtu.be/D_F9HUTYnl0
>>
desu, I still think that his first album has a nice sound design
something which I never heard before
>>

Because it was the nu metal of electronic music.
