i think years from now 1989 will be remembered like Teenage Dream is - where almost every song is a single. like Thriller too .They're both on that level. (I always thought MJ was way overrated, though)

only 2 of the singles weren't forced whereas all 5 singles from teenage dream were effortless hits
also, 1989 was released in a pop vacuum with none of the demo-crossing appeal of MJ when he put out thriller in a pop vacuum
Teenage Dream came out right when Taylor, gaga, and a lot of other people were putting out single after single
