Is this the only good album that has a main theme of feminism?

This one is pretty good. I don't know why Courtney Love gets as much hate as she does.

there's plenty of them
>>
>>63688817
It's a good song, but it isn't an album
>>
Well, Penis Envy is my favorite one. I know I'm in the minority, but I cannot stand Bikini Kill. Sure, Kathleen Hanna is hot, but I cannot stand her voice, and this is coming from a guy who listens to Daisy Chainsaw. I know I'm going to get hate from feminists for criticizing her voice for being "shrill" but as aforementioned, Daisy Chainsaw!
>>
>>63688888
I haven't listened to their music and it doesn't look like it appeals to me, but their stance on playing festivals with 50-50 gender representation is stupid af.
>>
>>63688966
bikini kill sucked, i think even their most charitable critics would agree that the politics came first and the music a very distant second for them
>>
>>63688989
that has literally nothing to do with the music
I mean, I personally wouldn't care but if that's their thing whatever
>>
>>63688854
Duh! Because she killed Kurt Cobain!
>>
>>63689029
I realize that, but then again, the style of music they play doesn't appeal to me anyway.
>>63689012
Another reason why I don't like them. At least Hole and Sleater-Kinney put effort into their songs.
>>
>>63688966
i think youre gonna get hate from feminists firstly for going by how hot kathleen hannah is at all when it has nothing to to about your opinion of the music she makes or made
>>
>>63688888
not a good album @ al

>>63688966
was bout 2 say bikini kill actually and the vox r 1 off the best parts desu their just so raw impassioned and full off real emotions yea i guess their kinda shrill butt dats the huge part off the appeal imo

>>63689012
musically their mayb the best regular punk band in existence desu

I disagree but it's definitely not for everyone
>>
>>63689230
haha good one laughing colours :)
>>
>>63688888
Nice quints

>>63688785
feminism=communism=fascism=racism=socialism=sexism=autism
all 'isms' are bad news, only dividing folks, creating more schisms, what we need is more LOVE and less 'isms'
>>
>>63689303
yeah but discussing albums with certain themes can be interesting
>>
>>63689228
Well it doesn't appeal to me because the music isn't harsh enough for it to work. Compared to this: https://youtu.be/JbP9FOEXWGQ
>>
>>63689271
silent shout is much better and dont even deny it

>>63689303
i kinda agree butt ur still shitting up dis thread

>musically their mayb the best regular punk band in existence desu
>not the Clash

How much punk do you listen to?
>>
>>63689230
This made my boring day.
>>
>>63689303
yeah sure if youre some sort of person who fears change and think shit is ok as it is or is just lazy
>>
>>63689446
>sort of person who fears change
>strawman

I don't think people like anon give a shit about change. They just don't like people shoving ideologies down their throats.
>>
>>63689406
i actually was in a """punk""" band 1ce (on vox) so theres plenty dat ive heard

dat said the clash is pure unadulterated shit and basically pop rock
>>
>>63689209
And that too, I forgot to mention that. However, my opinion still stands.
>>
>>63689548
It's punk fused with reggae, rockabilly and garage. they're great.

When you said "musically best", you're implying that they have excellent songwriting and versatile influences. The Clash can insert anything from calypso to reggae to ska on albums like London Calling and Sardinista!. That doesn't mean you have to like them, but just acknowledge they have more going for them. As for personal taste, I'm more of a fan of anarcho-punk, 80's hardcore and the Ramones, but I do like the Clash (even if the aforementioned albums are not all that punk).

>It's punk fused with reggae, rockabilly and garage
lol stop posting
>>
>>63689642
Man, this is actually great. I can hear their influence on Morrissey.
>>
>>63689303
Extremism and collectivism are bad too, and that's what you are advocating.
>>
>>63689406
the clash is fucking garbage, I could ask the same of you. Alec types like a faggot but he kinda knows his shit about punk, compared to most here anyway.
>>
>>63689786
I agree about the faggot part, so at least I can disagree with you respectfully. I've mentioned that I've listened to these bands and genres >>63689672 as well as post-punk like This Heat (more prog and krautrock than post-punk but whatever), Pere Ubu, Joy Division, Television, and a bit of Wire (I've only listened to a few tracks off of Pink Flag); grindcore (more metal than pink), powerviolence, noisecore (Sissy Spacek, the Gerogerigegege), noise-punk (Brainbombs) and a few others. I don't consider myself to be a typical punk, for I do listen mostly to prog (which is why I like This Heat so much) metal and noise, but people with a minimal understanding of punk do realize that the Clash (regardless of how good they are) have more going for them.
>>
>>63689672
>When you said "musically best", you're implying that they have excellent songwriting and versatile influences
i definitely am implying the songwriting part dat way butt not rlly anything bout the influences which dont have direct impact on the actual quality off the music which is still mostly defined by the aesthetics above anything else which r exactly on point in theyre case - their exactly wat a regular punk band should sound like and the songwriting is excellent 2

>The Clash can insert anything from calypso to reggae to ska on albums like London Calling and Sardinista!. That doesn't mean you have to like them, but just acknowledge they have more going for them.
literally any1 can do dat butt guess y they usually dont? it sounds like total shit and is laughable when done by some white boys in a rock band ass it nearly allways is

surely every ska punk band has a lot more going on then every regular punk band by dis logic lol quite the opposite actually

>I'm more of a fan of anarcho-punk, 80's hardcore
me2 totally butt again where talking bout regular punk here which i rlly think bikini kill r the high point off

>>63689892
Ramones, This Heat, Pere Ubu, Television, grindcore, powerviolence, noisecore, Sissy Spacek, the Gerogerigegege, Brainbombs r al cool butt the clash is still like ac/dc off punk
>>
>>63690141
Well, it doesn't mean you have to like them. Anyways, when it comes to regular punk, I swear by Ramones. When it comes to all times favorites: Crass. Have a good day.
