Muse is a cool band.
Everyone should check out their first three albums - those are where the Radiohead comparisons come from because they bear some similarities to The Bends/OK Computer. But after a few listens it becomes clear that early Muse is a much different beast, a lot heavier/punkier than any of 90s Radiohead.
Their 4th album, BH&R, is great too, and it has a more unique sound than the earlier stuff. More electronic/dancey/proggy.
Everything from The Resistance onwards is a mixed bag. Their most recent album is alright and was marketed as a "back to basics" thing, but doesn't sound much like the early albums IMO.

Guitar and bass are usually pretty cool. The drumming has never been interesting, and the vocals are shite. Whenever they bring in symphonic elements, they usually suck.

Matthew Bellamy is the reason I started playing guitar. Fantastic composer of rather complex piano compositions along with bad ass basslines on their second album. They just make friendly pop rock radio songs now. If I'm gonna be listening to genetic pop rock (which I don't) I'd much rather it be them than awol nation or fall out boys newer bullshit (I'm on fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire)
