c'mon don't be so serious, these threads are nothing more than a joke.

Yikes, all this drama....
Speaking for myself, I try to listen to new stuff when I can (I can't now for instance because I need to sleep) and give feedback when I can.
Sometimes threads are feedback-heavy, sometimes not.
When I say "recc", it's usually to something I have listened to before and regularly recommend.
These threads aren't all bad. I've gained a friend or two, plenty listens and downloads. In the end, it's just another way to get a little bit of exposure.

I know I've already given you feedback before, but I'm just revisiting your stuff again and man do I dig it. The vocal led section at the end of Gota Fria is magnificent, really nice SMiLE era Brian Wilson-ey. It might be my pleb sensibilities, but tracks like My Tears My Love and He Calls Me By The Thunder don't do all that much for me though. I recognize the talent and technique that goes into something like that, but I feel it gives the album a strangeish movement when you have songs like that mixed in with the other more traditional material. I just think perhaps the more ambient/experimental sounds could be incorporated more smoothly into the other songs so the switch isn't so jarring. But again, what do I know, still think it's a great project.

I adore the sense of humor and the use of SFX on this project, and while I feel the spoken word vocals (or are those sampled) don't work as well in context, everything else blends into a very genuine and musically interesting blend.

>>63600200
Looking at the comments, I understand the Why? and Teen Suicide comparisons, but one main thing that makes the first of those a good band IMO is the use of layering. While you do work around with loops and such, some brass or perhaps some other "upper voice" instrument would make this more distinctive IMO
Still some great stuff, though
>>63599861
Although I expected to not enjoy this based on the "ska" label, I found something similar to early Oingo Boingo that I actually reasonably liked. Although I would advise to invest in vocal harmonies and some more "meaty" brass mixing, this is far better than I imagined
Will continue in a bit

this feels like a film score for some depressing move about a dog in the midwest or something like that it's really nice and cold no complains i can see the effort you put into your work and it shows
>>63597066
this is good but i'm not a fan of the omnipresent feeling your music gives try and be more friendly but it's your art if you want to fall into the uncanny valley do so but i can say you have talent and if you put your mind to it you could make some wicked stuff
>>63596876
this is okay i just wish the tones were warmer everything sounds so cold and distant maybe add some drums brighten things up your music also suffers from overly centerness mix it up when you mix it up
>>63595658
this is very good and you have talent but there's something missing and i can't seem to find what it is, also your album is a bit long i noticed as i was skipping around it that some tracks seemed more filler than others
>>63595370
i like this a lot although it can be a bit busy and overbearing at times, that being said i think your biggest flaw is your being too experimental, not trying to knock the artistic vision just maybe cut back on the experimentation it hurts rather than helps
>>63595191

>>63600636
KYLE this is very good it has lots of midwest emo vibes and it isn't afraid of expressing itself it reminds me of 'there they're their' or how every you say it, from what i listened to there were no vocals so don't be afraid to add some
>>63600200
fun fact i stumbled across your music by accident when looking for cuteboy kissing booth i listen to friend every now and again, your music reminds me of your classic lo-fi with a more film score-y quality kinda like tonstartsbandhd meets Daniel johnston with touches of bright eyes.

Hey, big thanks! Any comparison with Brian Wilson is a big compliment!! If I had to justify the mix of genres in the EP, I'd say that a) as a debut EP, it displays versatility and b) it gave the EP a clear symmetry which I thought was neat.
Your stuff is really comfy! I've heard it before but it's not losing anything on the relisten. Sounds like a blend of Sufjan and AmFo, with maybe a little Elverum in the mix with the guitar textures. Good stuff!
>>63598562
Thanks man! I'm glad you dig it! With a project name referencing Danse Manatee, I was kind of expecting your music to sound like it does! I like your incorporation of brass instruments, although maybe they're samples... But I have to admit that the gimmick of using radios was already done by John Cage in Imaginary Landscape IV. I do like the atmosphere on O Worthless Pain! though.

Thanks again! I've already recc'd your stuff on a previous thread, but no harm in doing it again!!

For someone who's been producing for two weeks (I'm not the best person to be talking about producing, considering I've done very little in Ableton) this is very good! I didn't get bored listening to it, which is the best news. The choice of samples is interesting and effective in creating a mystical atmosphere and you screw with them in cool ways. Perhaps the beats themselves could need a little more experimentation, maybe more glitchiness (though that might be my own preferences coming in) but on the whole, it's good stuff! Great job!

you have a great voice, and your guitar sounds perfect, if you start making your songs instead of just covers you could gain plenty potential

really liked the intro on gyroscopic, the rest kinda felt like a pretty standard rock jam

love the art work. 20th century swan is pretty beautiful, loved those powerful, hissing drones at the beginning

Do you guys play live or is this a solo project? Either way insanely good math rock! Such a fresh take on the genre

Well all the good artists left. You're the only member of the original gang left looking at this thread.
DJ Rozwell, Vanishes, Soma, Foliage, etc. all those guys made good music and made good threads, then everyone else wanted a piece of the action and started demanded people listen and review their ambient drone projects made in an afternoon and the threads went to shit.
>>63606690
Thanks a lot for that. :)
>>63607506
Hey, thanks man! I really dig your stuff too. Some of the guitar inflections on the second track reminds me of early Modest Mouse. I like how you're using interesting chromaticism in there, although it works better some times more than others. I'm not the biggest fan of the vocals I have to admit: they seem a bit characterless and weak when contrasted with the tight and rich instrumentation. But otherwise, good job!

good for you man.......... here's some constructive criticism. Dont complain about spamming and asking for pats on the back while at the same time bragging about who you're working with. You have talent, but dont put yourself above other people, please. how are you to know how deep of a listen people are giving to other's music, and the honesty in their said "pats on the back"?

How does the fan account works?
I 'bought' this for $0 but it doesn't let me make an account.
Will it let me make one if I buy something over $1?
I will probably buy this again for some $ because it is very good.
