Anyone find it ironic how everyone was losing their shit when this came out, people were saying it's as good as Loveless and better than Isn't Anything (pffffffffffthahahahaha), and yet just a few years after its release no one gives a rat's ass about it anymore?
And how anyone who thinks otherwise is contrarian? It's a shit album, admit it.
the last few tracks are challenging to say the least. the first half is perfection but a bit simplistic.

This board is a dead wasteland of shitposting, I'm never coming back.
no thats actually the best mbv release
still has nothing on souvlaki though, sorry
>>63569527
nobody cared about loveless when it came out either. you don't even know what youre talking about.
>It isn't loveless so it must be shit
yeah kill yourself
everyone sage
>people were saying it's as good as Loveless and better than Isn't Anything
No they weren't
>no one gives a rat's ass about it anymore
Why, because it's not an epic /mu/ maymay that means now one gives a shit about it?
It's a great album, just not Loveless or Isn't Anything great.
7/10
Sucks that this is the last MBV album until 2035.
I feel like this is gonna have a place in their discography like the EPs do, something good before something great came out of it, and judging from some of the second half tracks, it's mostly likely true.
It's pretty good. Shame it was never actually offered for sale through digital music sites or streaming, which really hindered its impact.
>>63569527
>Isn't Anything
I don't like this album. It sounds like a shittier Souvlaki.
>>63569578
>nobody cared about loveless when it came out either
>either
I thought mbv was well received like op said
>>63570066
>shitter souvalki
Listen to Isn't Anything again.
>>63569578
>you don't even know what youre talking about.
neither do you.
>>63570066
Souvlaki is not even the best Slowdive record, and it's certainly not better than Isn't Anything, don't know why it's praised.
>>63569935
why do you want another MBV album? Shields showed himself to be a one-trick pony. Loveless was the logical conclusion to the sound he sought. he released 'mbv' because he knew it would sell.
>>63569578
Nobody cared about mbv until they put on the reverb
the problem with the album is it takes a lot of listens to click. only diehard fans are gonna stick around for that
>>63569527
this is my AOTY 2013 and is every bit as good as loveless
suck my dick OP
>>63569527
It does kinda suck, pretty funny how /shugazi/ people jerked off over such a mediocre release
>>63569578
Actually people cared way more about m b v than Loveless upon release, which makes it even funnier
>>63570077
better than their other two albums
>>63570350
Not the anon you're responding to but i don't know what you're trying to say by that
>>63570468
>better than their other to albums
>>63570468
>/shugazi/
no surprise a group of tasteless people are trying to overreach a plainly limited genre.
>>63570578
>plainly limited genre
hahahah
like
why do you feel entitled to discuss shoegaze if you clearly don't know shit about it?
>>63570350
Kevin, I'm V.A.C
>>63569568
Fucking this
>people still don't consider You Made Me Realise their best release
>>63570257
>Souvlaki is not even the best Slowdive record
Are you trolling dude?
>>63571227
NOT FUNNY
>>63571571
Yeah, Just For a Day is their best.
Isn't Anything is better than Souvlaki anyway.
>>63571571
Pygmalion > Just For a Day > Souvlaki
>>63571586
You're a contrarian. Just For a Day isn't as consistent as Souvlaki. And it doesn't have When the Sun Hits & Souvlaki Space Station.
So if I'm not gabbing about it on 4chan, I don't listen to it and love it? In fact, I'm inspired to listen to it again, right now. Cheers
>>63571586
Just for a Day is not very good at all (compared to their subsequent work). Emotionless, nondescript ambient.
I think m b v is good and I still listen to it but I'm not in love with it or anything. And I wasn't caught up in the hype when it dropped, I was pretty skeptical of it but it turned out to be pretty good.
