Don't get the m50s they're uncomfortable as hell and have zero soundstage, I just got the DT770s and they absolutely kick their arse in terms of sound and comfort, plus they're actually cheaper, at least in the UK

yes.

I was on board with getting the DT 770s until I realized I probably would need an amp for 250 ohms, and I like to carry my headphones around with me and use them out of my house.

If I get the 32 ohm version, will the sound quality suffer?
>>
>>63567214
Probably, most people recommend going for the 80 or 250s, the DT 770s are really bulky and not portable at all either, I have the 80 ohms and they didn't go loud enough even with my desktop on board sound. Studio monitors are really not meant for portable use in general but the M50s are one of the more portable, smaller pairs out there. Maybe get a good pair of over ears for home use and a cheaper pair of smaller on ears for portable use?
>>
>>63567326
Well fug.
Would I need an amp for home use if I only use the 250 ohm version for my computer? I don't know dick about headphones when it comes to amps.
>>
>>63567467
250 ohm definitely need an amp, the Fiio E10k is one of the best 'cheap' amps out there, I think it should be enough for the 250s but you might want to Google a bit just to be sure, the 80ohm are good too though and they're easily driven by that amp, I never have it above 4 on the volume dial, 80 ohm might even be good enough without an amp, I just tend to listen quite loud.

stop, get the MSR7 instead

slightly brighter but they're a huge jump the m50s in term of quality/clarity

i bought these like 4 years ago, how are they still the standard meme headphones? no one has topped them yet after all this time?

mine collect dust in a bin now
>>
>>63567662
Jeeze, are they really that heavy? Too heavy for even just walking around the block?
>>

>MSR7
Not many reviews on it. I can take your word for it though, they look nice.

How are those cuffs though? Are they as shitty as the Meme 50s?

I still wanna try and make the DT770s work.

What I'm thinking is I could buy the DT770s, and then buy a pair of those next paycheck for when I'm out and about.

So what cables do I need for that amp?
>>
So help me out here: I'm looking at upgrading from M50's as well. Looking at DT770's or maybe something else, maybe something else with open cans. Idk.

What ohm version should i get? 250? I have no idea what any of that means. And also, if I need an amp....I use a Focusrite 2i4 for headphone listening at home. Does that work as amp? Because I can bump the volume up a lot higher if need be. Or do I need a whole separate piece of gear?

Just wondering, I'll buy an amp too if need be. I'd prefer to buy studio monitors but I just can't because of sound-restrictions (unfortunately).

It just plugs into a computer via USB.

I'm thinking of getting these for mixing http://www.amazon.co.uk/M-Audio-Professional-Definition-Studio-Grade-Headphones/dp/B00F3F7316

Anyone know if these are good or if there's anything better for the same price/less? Needs to have a flat frequency response.

I have a pair of these after my Shure SRH440s broke. For $80, I don't think you can get a better pair of headphones in the same price range. They're better than a lot of $200+ pairs.

Both the MDR-7506 and the SRH440s are great, would recommend.

The 80ohm version should work on a desktop without being completely horrible, however it does suffer on phones.
>>
got the dt990 250ohms and drive them with a fiioe10k
defenitly cant use them without an amp tho
