On the real I just try and find some kind of common ground artist wise. If that doesnt happen I just move on to the next subject and im cool with it no harm no foul. Have had preety deep musical conversations anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or so. Things sorta get dicey when we're talking about things outside of my comfort zone but I'm preety spread out across the board to the point where I know a bit about everything so yeah its not that hard.

I am an architecture student with a surveyor diploma. I know a lot about construction technology and building engineering, but I'd never say that a building is better than another because of its structure.

Trick for talking about music: describe whatever you're talking about in sensory terms that aren't sound related. Use words like bright, dark, sweet, sour, rough, shiny, etc. It's also totally valid to talk about music's "color" but that refers specifically to timbre.
