Hey /mu/, /k/omrade here wondering if any of you have an appreciation for war inspired songs, it seems like every conflict produces music of some sort so I'm wondering what you guys have come across. Post any genre, era, and language.

rome - a passage to rhodesia is a concept album about the rhodesian bushwar. it's also one of my favorite albums of all time.
it's more of a metalhead's turf, but music inspired by war has touched lots of genres so I'm not writing it off as cliche

I'm surprised that enough people know/care about the Rhodesian bushwar for there to be an album about it. Did the artist have any connection to the war?

I know it's an M60 but I couldn't resist the opportunity for a shitty pun.

These are good, too.
Other than the UK, not many other developed countries have seen as much war that at the same time have the cultural climate [read: lack of political correctness] to get their war music produced. There probably are some Russian gems somewhere out there.
Does this mean all war music is right-wing? I'm guessing it does.

no not really. he's very anti-war and anti-colonialism so I think it was a convenient platform for him to make a didactic point about those topics.

I figured this for anti-war and completely inappropriate for the thread.

well yes? its war inspired, just not for that war. it's not that great of a song anyways but there is plenty of music against specific battles i would imagine but yea, a leftist pro war song probably doesn't exist

No mention of Jungle Rot? Let's fix that.
They're kind of "meathead death metal" but they are definitely War Related. I mean, they're named after a disease that soldiers get in their boots.
