Could be periods in which I had a job and got laid off and drug binges where I didn't scrobble much. Those are my best guesses. This was a 6 month period.

For me? I have no clue. He's exactly what I've wanted in music my entire life so it just fills that. I can completely understand not liking him or thinking he's overhyped though.
He's a great song writer. He's great with production. If you look at albums like Illinois, its like a 26 instrument album and he played pretty much all of them.
He taps into emotion, sadness, happiness, fun, faith, etc. His discography is filled with variety.
If you like him, there's so much to love, and it goes really deep. I hated him at first. I didn't realize what he had to offer I guess.
I think people also push new listeners into the wrong direction. Illinois is a horrible album to start on. All Delighted People is the ideal place to start and for some reason no one considers this.
