It's basically death grips tier these days. Real patricians moved onto more sophisticated forms of improvisation.

>Real patricians moved onto more sophisticated forms of improvisation.

What's noise got to do with improvisation? Most of it is heavy on post-production and editing.
>>
>>63543463
I'm gonna have to settle for getting it 2nd hand somewhere down the line, far too much of a poor fuck to get it now.
You getting any of the new tapes as well or just the box?
>>
>tfw you enjoy noise music but you're scared of the people who make it and listen to it because they all look like autistic edgelords 'bout to stab you in the neck

Probably just the box. Don't delve into tapes much
>>
>>63543494
>>What's noise got to do with improvisation? Most of it is heavy on post-production and editing.
I think there's definitely two worlds of noise musicians, ones who improvise while performing live, and ones who rely heavily on post-production.
>>
>>63543812
I've showed my friends who are into "normal music", and maybe it's just my friends, but they appreciated it for what it was, even though they didn't enjoy it. One of my friends couldn't get over the fact that people pay to listen to it, lmao.

it's kinda fun sounding. I rarely find noise to sound really serious unless there are easily comprehensible lyrics.

I'm not into noise myself, but what's with all the obsession with everyone posting hostile comments about the crowd?
They're obviously there for the music so why the fuck would you care?
At least they actually go to shows unlike you basement dwellers.

I can respect some noise music. I like some noise music. However, the one thing I will never come to respect or comprehend is the amount of money bought on electronics, effects pedals, drum machines and production equipment just to make shit I can make with time stretching the sound of a cake mixer and adding a freesource reverb and EQ VST to it...
>>
>>63550119
You can make a "song" with sound fonts. Purchasing and using equipment properly demonstrates use knowledge and application.
>>
>>63550111
I find Ain Soph's early ritual stuff absolutely hypnotic.

>>63550119
>shit I can make with time stretching the sound of a cake mixer and adding a freesource reverb and EQ VST

Do it then. Make it and let's listen to the results together.
>>
>>63550549
I gotta make a cake first. I don't know if I'm up to that commitment yet. In time though, you'll hear. Save this comment for the future.
>>
Can somebody recommend me noise that isn't edgy? I'm a fan of some Ramleh and Yellow Swans. I just want noise that is conceptually not just about death or murder or bdsm which is most entry level stuff I've come across.
>>
>>63549391
>How can you not be happy to see some noise

Depends on the artist and what they're doing, doesn't it? Getting hyper to Incapacitants or Cock ESP makes a lot more sense than getting hyper to the dour, dismal shit Puce Mary is doing.

Check out this killer V/A compilation album from earlier this year.
Full-length album contributions from Alessandro Cortini, Kevin Drumm, Lussuria, and Regis and Prurient in collaboration, clocking in at around 3 hours total. Focused on long-form slowly developing ambiance and atmospherics rather than just straight up noise destruction. Really tasteful and rewarding shit that gets better with each listen.

this is my last chart I'm willing to post and it's kinda shit. it's missing a lot of great stuff like fucking esplendor geometrico but like all charts it's ok if you take it as a collection of recs and not a cannon list of essential artists.

please don't treat any chart I just posted as a list of essential artists. the idea of essentials lists is terrible for enjoying a genre.
>>
>>63555839
>try not to get pretentious about it, it drains the fun out of everything

dw i was just engaging in some friendly memery.

What artists have that screeching, powerful merzbow-esque noise? im just finding low-fi stuff. ofc its a bigger genre and cant be pigeon holed into "make my ears bleed" but i would like some of that.

who are your guys' favorites?

desu I'm not usually into that type of stuff I tend to like either rhythmic noise or the more droning/field recording focused end of the genre but the newer consumer electronics stuff is quite aggressive. check out dollhouse songs or estuary english. also that hal hutchinson album off the scrap metal in noise chart is really good.
