American Idiot, I was 10 years old and I mowed lawns to buy a guitar so I could learn all the songs.
I don't know if this was the absolute first, but it's the earliest I can remember. Got it alongside Rooney's self-titled debut and...some other CD's I can't remember whatsoever.

Got it when I was in 6th grade. I've since expanded my taste to everything from jazz to hip hop to ambient to noise rock to post punk, and it's still my favorite album.
My dad always bought me live albums when I was a kid. The earliest ones I can remember are Pearl Jam's Live on Two Legs and Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds' Live at Luther College.
It's funny, cause I remember blowing those off at first and not really listening to them. Yet those ended up being two of my favorite bands in my high school years.
I was 16, bought it on vinyl because I won a bid on ebay. I'm pirating music and streaming spotify for free, because I'm poor.
