Technical death metal is breddy good. Slam is okay, I need to listen to more before I can make a judgment though. Never listened to beatdown.

>googled "beatdown"
>slower hardcore punk with more breakdowns
I can't nope hard enough
beatdown is silly

Beatdown is essential edgecore

Beatdowns aesthetic and scene for sure, cringe central.
I've liked death metal since my early teens. Slam and beatdown are largely meme-tier. They just take certain elements and overuse them, it seems, although some beatdown looks like it has an emotional edge.
I like how open ended and diverse death metal is for a subgenre.

Slam and beatdown are fun genres

I am King by Code Orange is one of the most consummately crafted works of hardcore produced in the past three years. Makes stuff like Iron Lung, Hatred Surge, and Man is the Bastard look like chump shit.
Even more intriguing is the fact that the band has another parallel project with nearly the same members playing FUCKING 90s INDIE THROWBACK. That's not even to mention the Reba's Meyer's folk punk side project, Lillith.
That said, beatdown is tryhard central and cringe as fuck. If I wanted to lose teeth and get physical with grown men, I'd join a queer hockey league.

OP here, cheers for the link digging code orange.

Death metal is cool, slam is a genre I know little about but honestly avoided because of wiggers and Slavs, beatdown is garbage and sludge metal accomplishes what it does without being cringe central home of wiggers and wanna be tough guy crowdkillers

Recommend some sludge metal? Never really got the genre.
