What does /mu/ think of First Utterance?
>>63513829
i've tried to into it a couple of times cause i've heard its great. But i cant into it.
maybe someday.
>>63513845
You must into it. It's one of the greatest.
I ended up giving Diana a listen and think it's a great track but I need to finish the rest of the album
DIANA DIANA DIANA
Cover makes me sick.
One of the worst I've ever seen.
I'm assuming the music is just as ugly.
>>63513872
>Cover makes me sick.
>One of the worst I've ever seen.
>I'm assuming the music is just as ugly.
Honestly it sounds the way the cover looks.
Have a listen for yourself:

This desu
>>63513872
>I'm assuming the music is just as ugly.
Yes, but in the best way possible
>>63513829
great album, i've never found anything similiar
>>63513872
>>63513886
The whole aesthetic is really nightmare material. That ugly scary hippie witch thing.
Makes me think of Vali Myers (pic related, her art)
>>63513933
Or Rosaleen Norton (again, pic related *shudder*)
>>63513886
Okay, listened to a few songs. Not bad, but I don't think it's for me.
>>63513905
Some artists were vaguely going in the direction of that spooky scary witch vibe when the psych/experimental underground was really into psych/free-folk. Never quite as disturbingly, though.
You could argue that early Animal Collective even kind of went there.
Current 93 kind of cross into that area sometimes too.
Drip Drip > Song To Comus > Diana > The Bite > The Prisoner > The Herald > Bitten
Decided to just give this a first time listen after pulling an all nighter
The 25 minutes I've heard so far definitely made for an interesting experience, but that's as far as I can get without losing it at this point
Exuma is better
>>63513989
Winter is a Coloured Bird = Diana > Drip Drip > The Herald > The Prisoner > Song to Comus > In the Lost Queen's Eye > The Bite = Bitten
>>63514151
Why would you even compare exuma with first utterance? But if we have to compare I would have to say First Utterance > Exuma
The Herald has some beautiful guitar melodies on it but I don't really like the songwriting on this thing.
>>63514391
But it's all so good
DIANA DIAAANAAA
literally really really good
Song to Comus is one of the most unsettling tracks I've ever listened to.
The whole album is amazing.
>>63514826
Most of the lyrics on the album are pretty fucked up too
Wow used to be one of my favorite albums, haven't listened to it in a few years though..
>>63513859
it offends me a little that you haven't listened to it tbqh
Fucking amazing, one of the best albums of all time. The greatest shame in the world that they never got to do the follow-up. To Keep From Crying has 2 songs that are almost good but ruined by production.
Out of the Coma is just kinda okay.
Every single song on the Diana EP they released is mandatory listening, as is the unreleased song they put on Song to Comus. It basically bookends the album with some of their lighter songs that are also really good.
Also Drip Drip is fucking terrifying. It reminded me of the first time when I listened to the track Iowa by Slipknot back in high school. It just feels like you are witness to something horrible happening.
>>63513829
one of those albums that I knew after 3 seconds that I would fucking love it to death
Does anyone have a list of stuff that sounds like First Utterance or has similar vibes?
>>63513829
It's good, but not THAT good. Personally I think Eddy Detroit's Immortal Gods (Sun City Girls collab) did the witchy psych-folk thing way better, and is a hell of a lot more fun.

Also the original Wicker Man soundtrack.
>>63517222
I think it's that good.
>>63517222
>>63517234
I think it's somewhere in between these levels of good
>>63513829
Better question: What other songs have such a fucking intense and energetic bongo solo? Or even just that level of bongo energy?
>>63513829
Annoying, and overrated.
>>63517492
Why?
>>63517492
shat ap
Dianuuuuughghghghgh

What ever sails your boat
>>63520552
i can sleep at night knowing that whoever made this is a gfless virgin
>>63520641
Yeah, because I'm sure those albums really draw in the ladies.
>>63513872
>literally judging an album by its cover
off yourself
>>63513872
but it was hand drawn with pens and it's super stylish and cool, and it makes me even more terrified of comus every time i walk into a forest
>>63521045
you'd be surprised.
try going to UCB
>>63521045
>drawing in ladies using albums
???
>>63521543
wave them out the window mane it works
dick sucked good every time
>>63517211
Broselmaschine - s/t. more rooted in melancholy than horror though
>>63521560
Thanks mane, will try it right away
>>63521413
>you'd be surprised.
I would be
>>63521543
>drawing in ladies using albums
In reference to >>63520641 with his implication that the person who made that chart is a gfless virgin, which seems to imply that listening to music on that chart seems to help your romantic situation, which is highly fucking unlikely. If anything those albums are pussy repellent.
>>63520552
b2bed Montie
>>63521920
giving a fuck what other people like is probably why >>63520641 thinks the poseurcore meme was started by a virgin
>>63521920
>If anything those albums are pussy repellent
In my experience most music that isn't top 40 pop is pussy repellent.
>>63521638
ty for rec
>>63521973
>the poseurcore meme was started by a virgin
I thought it was Montie that started it, and he has a gf, probably not a virgin either.
>>63521986
I played D'Angelo for a girl once until she fell asleep on my bed and then I woke her up and she left
am I doing it right
>>63522324
No, why did you wake her up...
>>63517065
To keep from crying is a great pop album, you've gotta give it a chance, I hated it for a long time, now I may even like it as much as first utterance. The structure is great, it's like the light dream sequence of a neurotic.
Best songs: Down, So Long Supernova, Children of The Universe, To Keep From Crying
it's very great but I'm not disturbed by it and I don't understand when people say it's like horrifying maaan
>>63514168
>The Bite last
u wot
>>63522736
Really? Well you must be an aesthetic retard.
>>63522761
are you "mentally scarred" by creepypasta?
>>63523119
I know first utterance's spoopiness can seem meme, but I found it sincere, after all, those were british small town folk in acid.
