It really is true though. Opeth is emotional to a fault and I find their music unlistenable and "sissy" because of that.
I'm not some dork who wants all my music to be SUPER BRUTAL but that's why I listen to metal. If I wanted emo/poetry style lyrics I would be listening to From Autumn to Ashes or Thrice or something like that instead.
Opeth might be the most overrated metal band in my eyes and I have no idea why they got so popular but I suspect it's so that "metalheads" who don't listen to other genres can still get a good cry out sometimes and then cover up liking that sissy stuff by pretending that Åkerfeldt is some incredible guitarist/vocalist.
